How much is it to join the What We Read Next Bookclub?
You can pay either £10/month, £50 for 6 months or £100 for a year.
What does my membership include?
As a Bookclub Member;
1. You will have a seat at the virtual book club event every month with myself and the chosen author.
2. On the night of the event, we will have the opportunity to meet online 30 mins before the author joins us, to discuss the book.
2. During the event you will have the chance to chat to the author during our Q&A. A recording of the event will be sent to you after and be available to watch for 1 month.
3. Each month I will share 3 blog posts discussing the book and share book recommendations.
4. You can also chat to other Bookclub members in our secure blog space which you will need a password to log into.
What does my membership NOT include?
Your subscription does not include the book.
WWRN are partners with Waterstones who offer a 15% discount to all Book Club Members who purchase their WWRN Picks online via the Waterstones website.
Waterstones deliver books both Nationwide and Internationally. Postage costs will apply.

The discount can only be used to purchase Book Club Pick and will be shared in your welcome email once you join.
When does the virtual event take place?
The last Wednesday of every month at 8pm GMT via Zoom. The event will last for approx 1 hour. If the date or time changes you will be sent an email so please make sure you have subscribed to our mailing list for all news and updates.
When will I receive the link to the virtual event?
You will receive a link via email a few days in advance of the event. Please ensure you are subscribed to What We Read Next mailing list as you will not receive emails from us if you are not subscribed.
How far in advance will we find out about the author scheduled for the following month?
We will announce our new author at the end of each month. This should give you enough time to buy the book through The Hastings Bookshop and read it before the virtual event.
Is the Bookclub only open to people living in the UK?
Absolutely not! It's open to anyone living on this planet :). Be mindful if you are living outside of the UK that postage costs will be more and it may take a while to get to you, so make sure you order the book well in advance of the event.
What is the What We Read Next blog page?
The What We Read Next blog is where we share posts about the books we are reading each month plus where we'll also be sharing videos of the events too. It's also a secure space where we can talk about the books together as a community. You will need a password to log in. The password will be sent to you via email once you have signed up. Do also make sure you have subscribed to our mailing list.
What if I have paid but can't make the event?
If you can't make the online event, you will be able to watch a recording of the event which will be sent to all members at the end of the month. The recording will be available to watch for one month.
Where do I get my book from?
Please note that the book is not included in the cost of the membership.
You can purchase books through bookshop.org - https://uk.bookshop.org/shop/whatwereadnext.
We also encourage you to use your local library, check for copies in your local second hand store or Vinted.
How does it work?
Sign up and receive your book in advance of the online live event, so you have plenty of time to read it. You can send in the questions and discussion points you'd like us to talk about too. You will also be able to chat to other BookClub members our discussion area and ask questions to the author at the end of the interview.
You'll receive a link via email to the virtual event a few days before. Can't make the event? We'll send out a recording that you'll be able to watch it back.
Do we get to chat with the authors?
Yes! There is a Q&A at the end of each live conversation when you have a chance to talk to the author.
Can I chat to the other Book Club Members?
You sure can! We have a comments section on our blog page where WWRN Members are able to chat. Also, we meet 30 mins before each live event on Zoom to discuss the book before the author joins us.
What if I’ve already read the book?
If you’ve bought a bundle and find you’ve already read a book in that mix, you can swap it for another month of your choice. Just drop us an email and let us know.
